I'm now putting together the spec for my MP based setuop box. Although, I estimate most things, what I'm not currently sure about is the CPU demands for an MP based box.

Essentially, my MP setup will have a Hauppage Nova-T 500 dual DVB-T tuner card and I want the box to handle dual tuner recording while simultaneous playback of either another recording or video stored on the set top box. I would also like enough reserve CPU power to keep the MP GUI responsive and also that I can browse the internet via MP/Internet Explorer.

I'm looking at this Motherboard http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=32#i945GMt

Is the spec of this board good enough to support my demands?

    Hello BarrieSmith,

I am using a mini-ITX board utilizing a similar chipset. The mainboard itself basically is sufficient for MediaPortal use (with reserves) but I am afraid to tell you that the integrated video-adapter is not so you would have to buy a sepparate one. I am using a T5600 CPU by the way, which is the fastest of the 34 Watt Intel series (with loads of reserves).
