    Hi

I tried several over the past month to update my iMon drivers from 7.20 to 7.40 or more recently 7.60, but each time, MiniDisplay doesn't work anymore: it can't even do the "Test Display", VFD stays off.
Switching back to iMon driver 7.20 solves the problem, but I'd like to know if that's something developers are aware of ?

I could see some posts where people are running their iMon LCD without problems, so maybe it's just a problem with the *VFD* version ?

    thanks

I'm using a VFD with a similar firmware and all is fine. Have you ticked the "use old V3 dll" ? If so remove the tick, it's no longer necessary.

I have just had the same problem grouzy.
Fresh install of MP and 7.60 - no display - not even test.
Went back to 7.20 and all is good.(I kill the auto-update before it can start).
I wonder what improvements 7.60 should give? I think 7.20 works great.

chemelli: I didn't tick this box

RCW: Yes, version 7.20 works great for me so I will stick with it. I was just tempted to update to the new version, but that was a bad choice.

I found something interesting though: if I first go in iMon Manager and set frontview to always display (or automatically display), then I start MediaPortal and it works, it's taking over the display of iMon Manager...
I managed to have it work by choosing different "Force" options in advanced properties, but that was always very random, not working anymore after a restart of the computer for instance.

I'm attaching logs of Mediaportal I gathered when VFD not working, then when working (extensive logging activated in MiniDisplay).. I can't really figure out the difference, but there are lots of lines, maybe I'm missing an important one

    Hi,
I have an Antec case with built in LCD-panel, a fresh install of MP1.0.2 and iMon was updated to 7.60.

grouzy: I experienced exactly the same problem and have some more information to replicate it.

Made configurations to iMON (Frontview to start when iMon starts) and MiniDisplay. As soon as MP starts the iMon Frontview settings gets changed (Frontview to never start when iMon starts). This meant that the screen went black when entering MP after reboot.

Workaround: Enable a combination of "Delay driver initialization" and "Force reload during driver start" works for me. I will try to find a better solution later, because this takes an extra 8 sec to show after entering MP.

In the meantime, is there a way to tweak the time for the DelayStartup parameter?

I recently upgraded to 7.61, seems to work ok. Now my vdf show a running clock when my htpc is powered of by my harmony remote. When mediaportal starts it will show mediaportal messages, when i go out of mediaportal is shows the frontview clock again.

    In minidisplay i only have
checked start frontview on exit (advanced settings)

    In imanager i have set:
show date time as shutdown message
    frontview start as automatic

    Hi

Yes, if I set iMon to start the display automatically, and MiniDisplay to swith it on on exit, I don't have the problem. It only occurs when I don't want it on when MediaPortal exits.
For the moment I switched back to iMon 7.20, it has all I want anyway

I also run the IMON 7.60.
Yesterday I have installed MP 1.1 Alpha and now the display doesnt show anything.

When I open IMON it it set to start never. I switched to Automatic und run MP. Nothing happens. So back to Imon und it is still back on "Never".

Has anybody the same experience with MP 1.1 and Imon 7.60 ?

    Hi guys,

i have the same problem as descirbed here. I moved back to old drivers which works pretty fine (using the dll option). But I also figured out thatwhen I call shutdown directly from MP, display stays frozen even when PC is off. If I close MP like other programs (exit to windows), display is turned off (nothing is displayed). Maybe devs can look on this also :)

Can you explain how you did this? I mean the dll option ? I deinstalled Imon 7.60 and installed imon 7.20.
But now i cant activate the display. An while starting MP it will set imon frontview to never.

It is crazy because i was running imon 7.60 an MP 1.0.0 an all worked perfectly. I only updated to MP 1.1 because of the wheater plugin. An now my VFD display doesnt show anything.
