Hello,

Since I installed MP 1.1.0 RC1, the TV-Server does not find any audio encoder anymore.
Previously I installed winDVR 3 in order to have intervideo encoders.
But when I try to scan my analog channels, I get a message "Please install a supported audio/video encoder".

Here is the concerned part of the log file:

I had previously (with version 1.0.2) a problem when scanning the analog channels but it was resolved with winDVR 3...

Thank you for your help !

    I have the same problem on 1.1.RC1 + WinXP-SP3.
On my PC a "Intervideo decoder/encoder" is installed.

Hi I also the same problem.
I have a Avermedia AverTV super 009, using composite cable and a set-top box. there is no preview for the channels, the logs says the same - that I need an audio encoder

it suck because I initially bought this card because the media portal site said that avermedia cards are supported, and now I can't use it...

Is there any news about it?

    :D

    Hi,

There is still no news for that problem...
    Did you install RC2 ?
I kept RC1 and I'm waiting for the stable version...

Yeah, I installed RC2 directly, does it work in RC1? I think not... if so - i will install it....
Question is - is it something that will be addressed at the final version....

Oh, stupid me - you initially reported the problem on RC1, of course it doesn't work there...

    Hi everyone

I know this thread is old, but for people reading in the future:

failed to connect audio pin->audio compressor:80040217

That means that the trial period on the software has run out. You have to register it before it will start working again.

If you know the codec files (*.ax) , it might be possible to register them manually again, even after the trial period... it works with PowerDVD, so why not with the windvd3 codec files :)

here an instruction, it is a straight forward procedure..

Howto Manually Register/Un-Register Filters & Codecs - Chris Lanier

Beside the *.ax files also keep all DLL files that are in the same directory (simply do not uninstall windvd3 to be sure)

In this case the problem is not that they get unregistered - they simply refuse to connect to anything unless the WinDVR software has been registered. Codecs are quite capable of checking the registry (or any other place where a software register key might be stored) so PDVD would be an exception if that does indeed work.
