Missing gentle.config (1 Viewer)

I had just got this setup perfectly, and this happens. I get gentle.config is missing when I run "TV server Configuration". MediaPortal will bring up "MediaPortal Configuration", which crashes when I click Continue. Says Configuration has stopped working.

I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling with no changes. I've even went into the registry to search for all MediaPortal entries and deleted them.

BTW, this happened cause I was using my MCE Remote for MediaPortal and when I hit the back button or stop button when watching TV, it would freeze the PC. So I would have to reset the PC.

Nobody has a solution? I even tried using system restore to go back, and it didn't work either.

I think gentle.config is a configuration file for a database middleware MP uses.

I think it's pretty much the same file for every MP install appart from the line that select the database being used at the backend.

So I suggest you download the original file and modify it to your wish.

Pass : svncheckout

And try to modify the <DefaultProvider> according to what SQL server you are usingg (MySQL or SQLServer from Microsoft)

Thanks, that did it. It seems to be working now. The TV was working just fine for a while, but now it just shows a blank screen with no channel #. In TV server configuration, I'm able to scan and view the channels just fine. I just can't see it in MediaPortal itself.

Updating MediaPortal to the latest Rev23908 1.1 beta crashes MP configuration immediately. The TV server works just fine.
