On the server (where the TV card is) all works fine.
TV server is installed and firewalls are open...

But when I enter My TV on the client PC I get a black screen with a wait icon.
It shows: Missing or invalid file.

This is before I can enter the servername and password.

Anybody got any idea?

it sounds like the TV Client skin file is missing.
you need to make a not of the file that it should say is missing then copy that across from the bluetwo directory to the same place in the monochrome skin directory.

Is there a new version of monochrome? the tv server has been around for ages, so most skins are updated.
Otherwise, it will work if you change to Blue Two.

    Hi,
Do you use same verson number of both MP & TVE3?
You should also attach logs collected with MP Test Tool

    Regards

I think your SQL server was not setup for TCP/IP and/or the SQL Browser service isn't started. See the installation WIKI for information about the nessesairy settings.

also, make sure your tv server has a fixed IP adress and when starting tvsetup on the server replace "computername\sqlinstance" with "ipaddressServer\sqlinstance" this can cause a lot of trouble if not done this way and name resolution isn't working properly.

when asked for the adress of tv-server in the client, enter the ipadress in stead of computer name.

SQL Browser service is running now, did the IP adress thing.
The Plugin says that it is connected on the server (TV works on the server) so everything looks ok untill i enter my TV on the client.

Still get missing or invalid file....
So I can not get to where I enter the ip and pass.

    here are the new logs...

ThaClown, if you open MP Configuration -> Television -> Client, are the TV Server name correct there?

I have the same problem. Tried different server names, with ip and sql instance combinations but still getting the same error. I will try to install the latest media portal svn build over the 0.2.3 stabel version. Will report here if any progress.
