I have used MP for about a year and recently begun to have issues with it recording or actually NOT recording schedule recordings.

So... I deleted the tv channels for 3 HD cards I have and rescanned for the channels. Now, I have nothing in my recorded section of MP.

In the actual folder on the hard drive, the recordings are all there.

I cannot import them as they don't appear in the list on the tv-server configuration tool either.

Anyone help?

I haven't tried that yet, but am considering directing to a new folder to see if it recognises the recordings.

Last night the newly scanned channels recorded correctly and the new recordings show up as expected.

Just the previous ones are not recognised.

Very simular to my problem
After i rescanned for the new channels, i can't see the recorded files (but if i move them to my MOVIE folder, i can see them under MOVIE)
and the problem is that when i record now, the files are there, but cant see them in MP.
This is my tread https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...oblems-recorded-files-again-73107/#post533067

Tonight I created another folder on my hdd setup for media portal television (I have one drive for timeshifting, one for recording tv, one for videos, one for music)

Current folder when television shows are recorded is called recorded. I created a new folder called recordings, then copied over the previous television recordings to this new folder.

Changed the folder in which in tv tuner card records to this new folder and attempted to import but it fails to recognise the shows recorded prior to deleting the channels.

Next step is to reinstall MP and see what happens.

Anyone know where to find this information in xml file or how it recognises the cards channels before and after rescanning?

I seem to remember having a similar problem. I think (don't have mediaportal in front of me) I stopped the TV service, moved the files to a different directory, started TV service and went into the config and clicked "remove no longer existing files". I then exited the config, stopped tv service again and copied my files back into my recording directory. I then restarted TVservice and went to the config and my files were available for import. i had the same channels before and after this happened however.

Great suggestion poppabk

I tried what you described but alas it did not work. My new recordings are recognised, but the ones previous to deleting the channels and rescanning are still not seen by Media Portal.

I think it might be due to the channel names no longer being in your database. For the recordings that don't show up - does the exact same channel that you recorded them on originally still exist in your TV server channel list?

I had a similar problem and the solution came from this forum - cannot recall the source though.
POPPABK has it almost right...
You need to rename the recordings directory so that the database can no longer see it - leave the recordings inside.
Then go into TV Server Config and delete all invalid entries in the database.
Close TV Server Config.
Then change the name on the recordings directory back again to it's original.
Back in TV Server Config again, go back to the database and Import.

That should do it.
You had almost the correct sequence of steps but maybe not changing the name of the recordings directory doesn't successfully fool the database into clearing the entries properly.

Hope this helps.

To mshorthose - thanks for the information... that exactly as described did the trick.

Also thanks to poppabk for getting it on track.

I am extremely happy once more
