missing recordings? (1 Viewer)

can somebody tell me how recordings are supposed to work? when I used the previous version of MP if I went to scheduled in my TV I would see all the recordings set to record, that now doesn't seem to happen (it is blank). I can see the scheduled recordings in priorities and in the tvserver setup but not on the TV guide or the main scheduled screen. I copied a lot of schedules into the database from the previous version (data only, I didn't break the structure) and I thought that may be related but when I re-added a missing program it disappeared after it finished recording.

also, what is the series button for? and is it normal to have 2 sizes of red dots? (using xface skin)

I am trying to determan if this is a bug/my problem or me not understanding, I fear nothing will be getting recorded.

Do you mean as i think "after recordings scheduled are deleted automatically", rather than having to hit the cleanup button as you previously had to, i am only saying this a recording waiting are showing up fine in scheduled.

also, what is the series button for? and is it normal to have 2 sizes of red dots

Multiple recordings indicated.

Did you delete your cached folder contents on doing xface updates.

I now went and deleted the cache folder but I have never had different versions of this skin, so I don't think that was necessary. I don't think the problem is with the schedules being deleted as such, the database table "schedules" has 12 entries in it (therefore not deleted) but none show up on the schedules list via mediaportal. the "keep method" in the database is set to 0. all these recording schedules are (or at least should be) set to "record every time on this channel"

I just found a problem with the database data, the channels did not lineup with the new channel numbers but I have fixed that, they still do now show up and even the repeating schedules that I added from MP the other day have disappeared

I think I figured out what is happening, if the program name is not in the TV guide then the schedule does not show up. I just tried adding a manual recording and it does not show up in the schedule list, whch would fit the patten as there is no program called "manual(nine digital)". its starting to look a lot like a Mediaportal bug.

Checked with BlueTwo as well as xface, i have just tried a manual recording being added under scheduled\add\advanced and MP will not respond to up\down arrows to select channel and ok button fails to work, so cannot even add a manual recording.

Will see if anything exists already as a bug for my problem, as you seem to be able to setup your recordings ok, there just not showing up.

up,down and enter worked for me, maybe that got broken between our versions. EPG recording will initially show up but will be hidden as soon as it is no longer in the EPG (next day etc). I found this by changing the name in the database directly and see the schedule disappear/re-appearer. I did set my manual recording from a separate PC, not the server PC, probably makes no difference but maybe it does.

I have found that my problem is bug 1137 http://mantis.team-mediaportal.com/view.php?id=1137 I would prefer it was fixed but I can live with that, at least I can have some confidence that things will get recorded.
