I was just wondering. Is it possible to take something from one skin, say the way my pictures looks, and combine it with another skin? I really like the layout of the my pictures in xface, but I like most of the features of purevision. any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated. and If anyone had a link to a beginners guide to making a skin I would be doubley appreciative. :D

and while I'm here, why is it that some skins run laggy or slow but when I use the blue skins the action is really fast? just wondering...

:D

Yes.
Start with the skin you like the most and copy the .xml files and pictures ("media") from the other skin over to it.

Just remember, it's not as simple as to just copy any media from one to another, or one xml to another skin. Many skinners will use their own naming formats, and include media that isn't in other skins. Or different ID's for controls. Some skins are easier than others. It can still be quite an endeavor to follow all the pathways in the skin to locate and adjust everything. But it can be rewarding when finished.

    Good luck! :)

yeah, I know. I have already been feeling it out. Changing backgrounds I realized that one was jpg and the other was png formats. And I have no clue as to xml editing. yet. ;) It looks very complicated. That is the whole reason I haven't jumped into Liunx yet. Im pretty good with some things but programming and the such confounds me. But I do want to know how to move around the buttons, preview screens and what not to customize my own layout. I'll be around for the remainder, Im just getting into the whole Home Entertainment PC thing. I like to have cool stuff :D and this is definatly cool. thanks...
