Hi! I'am a complete n00b at this, thou i have been using mediaportal for a while now. Anyway, upgraded to version 1.01 from 0.230 all is working, except that a few files wont play (it's Star Trek TOS season 1) this is the message i get: Video codec:v_mpeg4/iso/avc
Audio codec:ac3
They work perfectly in mediaportal 0.230 & they are also working when using MPC-HC. Tested the SAF solution but with the same result, so what am i missing?

Update! Solved the problem myself in a way, i had the "directvobsub (autoloading) version in "video post processing" option enabled and it was this that causing the problem, adding the standard "directvobsub" option got everything working. So now i got a new problem, i rather want the "directvobsub (autoloading) version, because i want to control the the fonts & placement of my subtitles. Anyone got a fix?

Problem solved! Thank's for nothing ;-) No codec error, just to many options!

Same Problem, Does Anyone Have a Fix?

I have the same problem. When I use post processing directvobsub (auto loading version) I get an error message saying: "Unable to play" with the reason "video codec: v_mpeg4/iso/avc"
When I remove the post processing plugin it works, but then I can't see any subtitles.
digitalboy66: I didn't understand if you have fix that allows using directvobsub. If so, what is it please?
:D

Found a solution. I opened a video using MediaPlayerClassic, which does work for me with directvobsub. I right clicked the directvobsub icon in the system tray (a green arrow), and compared the renderers/filters listed there to the ones configured in MediaPortal.
As a result I made two changes in MediaPortal Configuration's Videos-->Video Player:
1. I changed the MPEG/AC3 audio decoder to "AC3 Filter"
2. I changed the Audio Renderer from "Default DirectSound Device" to "Digital Output Device (SPDIF) ("

One of these (or both) fixed it, and now I can use directvobsub in Video Post Processing without any problems (I guess the problem was that the dolby ac3 audio was somehow misrendered).

Anyone else have this issue and come up with a resolution? I have an MKV with dts audio and AVC video. I can get it to play easily in SMPlayer or VLC but I can't for the life of me get it to play in MediaPortal, I get the Video codec:v_mpeg4/iso/avc Audio codec:dts error. I have directvobsub in Video Post Processing (not the auto loading version). Turning this on or off doesn't seem to matter. Changing the MPEG/AC3 audio decoder to "AC3 Filter"didn't make any difference. Any suggestions as to what codecs I select in MP would be much appreciated. Below is my codec information:
