MoMPt Plugin (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I want to announce the MoMPt Plugin, a MediaPortal Tv Server plugin wich exports its functionalities (Timeshifting, EPG, Secheduler, Recorder) through web services, allowing remotely control from Linux and internet tables, such as Nokia N800.
It's necessary to install the MoMPt plugin on the windows side (it will work like a server), and the MoMPt library on the Linux/Unix side (it will work like a client) to get it working. A test client application was developed for maemo platform, called MaMPt. All this stuffs and more information could be found in the MoMPt page and here.

MoMPt 0.2 offers:

• Control timeshifting
• Control scheduler
• Control recorder
• Access EPG
• Transcode real time live tv using VLC
• Transcode recordings that could be accessed by a web server

pStar: Not yet, sorry! MoMPt allows to remotely control recordings, not music and neither pictures. We focused on television. You can request this features in our project page.

smnnekho: MoMPT plugin transcode this related "files" on the machine running MediaPortal, not on the device. If you request a trasncode by our plugin and you have the machine (MediaPortal) ip address, you can watch your transcode files.
For example:
Suppose your pc have 192.168.1.59 for ip address.
To watch real time tv transcoded in your PDA, you put the url http://192.168.1.59:5679 in a player which support it.
Suppose the recording file you want to watch is mompt-2008-3-12. To watch it, you need to request transcode by our plugin (that transcode and put it in a web server), download it from http://192.168.1.59:5680/mompt-2008-3-12.asf or http://192.168.1.59:5680/mompt-2008-3-12.ogg according the format you choose to transcode, and watch it like a commom file.
