I've been searching the forums, and reading the documentation, so forgive me if this has already been asked and answered but i couldnt find it for the life of me.

I want to use mouse mode outside of MP, without MP running. I have the MCE Replacement driver installed in XP SP2, and noticed in the documentation that MP must be running for mouse mode to work. I have mouse mode working just fine when MP is running.

Im just curious as to why that is. Is the MCE replacement Plugin communicating directly with the Replacement driver and sending commands on each button press? Is this functionality that could possibility be built into the MCE Replacement tray to communicate with the driver outside of MP?

Excellent Plugin BTW Aaron. Im just starting to get into Blasting with my MCE remote and your plugin is making the process very seamless for me. I dont have a clue why I havent tried your plugin earlier! :D

    Hey,

    yes, and no.

The replacement driver is communicates with the plugin via a .dll file. And that dll file can only be accessed by one program / process on the computer at any one time.

Your proposed solution of having it only communicate with the tray app is a good idea, and is the basis of the "IR Server Suite".

I have yet to integrate mouse mode into IR Server Suite's translator app, but as soon as I do that you will have your wish.

I'll let you know when that's done.

    Cheers,

Excellent. I was browsing around the forum and noticed you talking about the IR server Suite a few times. Sounds very promising. I'll be keeping my eye on this forum for any new developments!
