movie location info (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I am new to Media Portal and use Media Portal 1.02 together with the 0.75 version of Moving Pictures - great programs and I was pleasantly surprised that it did not take days to get this running from scratch

I am very happy with the look of the interface but there is one thing I could not figure out: Is there a way to find out the location of a movie on my harddrives within the Moving Pictures interface ?
Something like: L:\my_lastholiday.ts

I have a lot of stuff that I prefer to start myself with specific software and it would be nice to know where it is on my PC as I have a lot of drives.

I have currently set up a test configuration on a PC with XP SP3 and would like to move Media Portal over to my Vista 32bit system.

are you talking about the configuration or the frontend GUI?
When talking about the GUI:
Every aspect of the movie, including file location (have to check though), is presented to the skin, it is however up to the skindesigner to incorporate such information.
So in short, it depends on your skin selection.

Thank you, I had not thought about it that way as I am really new to this

I have used the monochrome skin and will try a few others.
Although in my opinion monochrome is hard to beat with regard to looks !

If I'm not mistaken, the current version of Moving Pictures doesn't provide the file path to the skin as a variable. The next version (0.8) will provide this.
You can refer to the Skin Designer's Guide if you are interested in customizing your skin after the 0.8 is available.

With the current version of Moving Pictures, you can sort by "File Path" by accessing the context menu (F9 on your keyboard, or usually Info on your remote). Also in the next version (0.8), if you are using the list view, the sorting will show group headers, to make it a little easier to figure out what's going on in the sorting.

Thanks, seems that 0.8 will have exactly the features that I am missing right now (genre sorting, database backup, file path) - hope that it gets out soon.
