Movie / Music Views - Treat multi part Files as one (1 Viewer)

Hi all

Im currently trying to get into MP and like so many others have moved over from Meedio. Im having a little trouble trying to work out how to configure certain views as i want them and also how to set up MP to treat movies split over 2 parts as one file/movie. Any detailed info on these 2 things would be great. Also I have seen that it is possible to view the movie info as in a large image of cover art with year / actor and all other relavent info before you play the movie. On meedio this was default on MP it seems not to be.

how to set up MP to treat movies split over 2 parts as one file/movie.

You should rename your movie-files to 'The Godfather-cd1.avi' and 'The Godfather-cd2.avi' and so on. The '-cd1' '-cd#' is important.

Also I have seen that it is possible to view the movie info as in a large image of cover art with year / actor and all other relavent info before you play the movie.

I think you should select the movie and the press "F3". I hope that this is what you want.

Almost what im after

Hi

Cheers for your responce but sadly all of my split files are named cd1 cd2 etc and it still will not associate them as one image also the feature which you talked about by pressing F3 displays IMDB/Amazon info I guess and is not accessing the already saved info for the movie on the local db. I want to be able to select a movie from a big icon list and then it take me a view of the artwork and movie description then if i hit play it will play. Any thoughts?

Also as a quick followup I would love to know how to rename menus from My Videos to just Videos for example and also display items in a big icon list view such as that of the music views. I have tried replicating the music views but no joy.

I don't know if you could edit the language files.

In the past there were suggestion for an option to enable or disable those suffixes and prefixes.

You also could try to use the Home plugin to configure the menus. I don't know if this is working yet.

If you visited the links i've posted, you would know that you could put a jpg oder png file in the same folder like the movie and should name it for example 'The Godfather.tbn'. :wink: This picture is shown as a cover art in all views.

Yeah its not the artwork being displayed that im having issues with its the layout and what info its displaying.

The tip for removing My in my Videos etc worked a treat I simply did a find and replace in notepad on the languages file and presto it was sorted.

Maybe its the movingpictures plugin you are thinking about? With that plugin you can se exactly what you are looking after, Filmstrip for movie selecting and a background image of the movie and in the same time you see the coverart and actor list, handling and IMDB rating stars...
