Synopsis::

DVD Playback stutter - suffering from several periods of stutter when playing back DVD's - both from the DVD drive as well as from (previously decrypted) backup s on my local harddrive. This doesn't happen with VLC or other players. I have a feeling this happens almost everytime I cahnge the volume, and the volume osd displays, and suspect it happens on change to the next .VOB file

Please note (somewhat unrelated rant) - I output to a 52" DLP TV using progressive component. This is the _only_ display attached to the HTPC. Due to the niceties of DRM, I found that it is impossible to use any kind of commercial codec (powerdvd/cyber/nvidia/WMP) they all brand me a "pirate" for wanting to playback legitimate content I own, and refuse to show a picture. ffdshow, dscaler, vlc, and mpclassic all play back fine. after fighting this issue for ages, I gave up, reinstalled my system, only use open source packages, and the only issue I now have is the stutter with the built in MP player.

    I an supposing you are fullscreen when this happens? If so, go into the configuration.exe program and select "general" on the left. Then make sure if "Use Exclusive DirectX Mode for fullscreen tv/video" is checked.
