Hi, I have just discovered this very nice plugin which is awesome!
There are a few things I'm puzzled about:
    1) does it use it's own database since the ratings that I see in the videos screen are not showing?
    2) is there a way to resort so in list view movies are alphabetically listed?

tip: by using the same words in the GUI settings tab and in the skin - Large Poster view <-> Large Thumbnail View it becomes more logic but apart from that, really nice work!!!

Your movies are sorted, but they are sorted based on the sortby field in the Movie Manager details.

By default the article remove function is enabled which turns "The Matrix" into a sortby field of "matrix the", meaning it will be listed under the letter 'M' along with all the other movies named like that.

You can disable this behaviour via advanced settings (check FAQ), but most people will prefer it like this, because otherwise you get a giant amount of movies listed under "The..." and "A..." when you might not look for them there. For example "The Transporter" and "Transporter 2" and "Transporter 3" are put together with this default article remove setting.

If you want to change things, just manually edit the sortby field.

Also it is highly recommended you try v1.0.x, don't let the beta/RC status scare you, an enourmous amount of fixes are included, and you will be able to upgrade to the final version without having to redo anything (same way the install of the beta will automatically upgrade your v0.7.5 collection).

Hi RoChess, thank you for your fast response! ;)
Now it makes sense to me!!! At first I could not find a system in the way the titles were sorted but now that you've pointed this out...:oops:

Do you have a clue whether this plugin maintains it's own database which might explain that the ratings are not shown as well as other details?

MovingPictures indeed uses its own database.

    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\database\movingpictures.db3

(location on Vista/Win7, on XP it's in another location)

Not exactly sure what you mean with the 'ratings', it could be that you are using an older scraper version that is not able to get the correct information, or perhaps you stumbled on a new bug (for example when imdb.com updates their website, the imdb.com scraper needs to be updated). You can use the 'Movie Manager' tab in the configuration screen, to verify your movies have all the right information.

I recently finished work on IMDb.com scraper v1.5.0, and it obtains all the correct score/rating information from imdb.com, so use the FAQ to verify the scraper version you have installed. If you have v1.4.7 in use, then it should do the score/rating fine as well. The fixes I made to v1.5.0 relate to popularity ranking (the amount of votes) and AKA titles during search.

    IMDb v1.5.0 scraper @ Issue 813

PS: I just noticed your are from Belgium, so you are probably using a non-English scraper, so then check/search forum for updates regarding the scraper you use.

I meant the movie rating like you see on imdb.com assigned by the viewers x/10 which here is converted to the stars.
At first I had assigned them manually because I wanted to be able to sort on it but after re-installing the plug in and rescanning, it got solved.

    Thanks for explaining anyway! ;)

FYI: the 'My own silly HTPC Specs' link in your sig is dead.

Yes, the popularity voting score is also solved, you have to get the new IMDb scraper v1.5.3 (on forum), as well as the skin update to show the numbers. The actual ability to filter your categories on them is still being worked on, but will eventually make it into the next build. I believe it is already on trunk, but you would have to compile MovPic from source yourself then.

As for sig link, try again.
