Movie Refresh Issue? (1 Viewer)

Just want to know if anyone can confirm this is a bug or not.

90% of my movies has been added by IMDB movie details source. A while ago I added a Swedish source (filmtipset) which also now seems to be integrated in v1.0.
My idea was to manually upgrade the movies with english details with new swedish source.

However when I use "Refresh Movie Info From Internet" (either from within GUI or config) and press "Yes" on overwrite question nothing happens.
The only way to get updated is to send the movies to the importer again which I did. Everything updated but now I had duplicates. One movie with english details and one with swedish.

So first of all... Is the "Refresh Movie Info From Internet" really working and updating or is something screwed with my db?

It is a pain to go though all movies to update "watched" flag just because I want to update movie details.

You have a few questions here so I will go through one by one.

First, the "Refresh Movie Info" action updates movie info from the data source originally used to pull the movie details. This is useful to get updated movie ratings or to fill in additional movie details as a site like themoviedb.org fleshes out it's movie details for your film. It will not pull details from another data source unrelated to the original one you used though. What you can do though is force a refresh from another data source in the Movie Manager. Often this will require the movie to be sent back to the importer for rematching.

The separate "Send to Importer" action effectively removes the movie from your database and sends it to the importer for reassignment. You probably do not want to take this route because you will lose all watched data as well as IMDb information acquired from your original data source.

None of these actions should produce duplicates in your database though. If this is what is happening then you are most definitely experiencing a bug. I have just tried playing around with these features a bit on my development machine and can not reproduce the duplicate movie issue you are describing. If you can provide detailed steps on how to reproduce the issue (preferably along with some debug log files) we will look into it. If you think this is a bug the quickest way to get the development team looking at it is by entering a bug report on our issue tracker and attaching your log files there.

I restored my 0.7.5 database and did some tests.

Force recheck from other datasource did threw the file back to the importer and it retrieves data (according to the green bar at the bottom). The movie details however did never get updated so more or less nothing happens/updates.

I tried several movies with same result.

If I use the seperate "Send to importer" the movie is now totally removed and updated with swedish details, but as you said also watched flag is "removed".
I can not repeat the duplication again so something must have happened that time.

If you actually can update your movie details from another source by "forcing" please let me know and I will send you my logs.

There are two ways to get details from a different data source for a movie already in your collection:

1) Update from the new data source manually in the Movie Manager. This will retain watched details and information about the original data source in case you want to switch back. usually this means approving a new match in the importer. See the attached screenshot.
2) Send the movie back to the Importer. This effectively wipes out all information about the movie and lets you start fresh. See the attached screenshot.

If you figure out a way to consistently reproduce the duplicate movie issue, post a bug report and we will investigate.
