    This plug-in is marvelous.

I have a feature request; It would be great if under settings (GUI or Importer) it would be possible to select if the filename or the IMDB name should be used for the movie.

The reason is that the IMDB name are sometimes not what you would want; some include ", for sequels they are often inconsistent and certainly do not sort chronologically. I know I can edit them, but I have done this three times on three clients now and I'm suffering from renaming fatigue ;)

Not sure it is the same issue.

I'm talking about IMDB using f.i. Crocodile Dundee and 'Crocodile' Dundee II. I want to get rid of the quotes and must therefore manually change the title.

Other example; The Indiana Jones movies are called Indiana Jones and .... Except the second movie, it is simply called Raiders of the Lost Ark on IMDB and therefore it doesn't sort together with the rest of the series.

My folders holding the movies are named to my wishes, I would like a global option to use the folder names rather than the IMDB names.

You could rewrite the IMDb scraper to do that.

Give me a proper list printout of your file structure, and I'll give it a go when I got time.

I probably would not be able to do that.

I don't have access to my media server until the weekend. I will send you the list.

    Thanks!

This is what my movie DB looks like:

I have a shared drive on my TV/Media server. I add access to four folders from this drive to Moving Pictures:

    4. Movies Children
    5. Movies Parents
    6. Recorded TV Children
    7. Recorded TV Parents

In these folders every movie has it's own directory, and these directories have either a movie file, a VIDEO_TS folder or a BDMV folder. Examples:

    4. Movies Children\10000 BC\10000 BC.avi
    4. Movies Children\A Bug's Life\VIDEO_TS
    5. Movies Parents\Slumdog Millionaire\BDMV
    6. Recorded TV Children\101 Dalmatians\101 Dalmatians.ts

Moving Pictures deals with this perfectly. I'm not sure why you need to understand this structure?

In Moving Pictures configuration under Movie Importer, the list shows two columns; the first (files) are the names of my directories, the second (possible matches) the IMDB matches. I would like an option to use the titles in the first column (i.e. my directory names) to be used as the movie title rather than the IMDB match. That would give me full control over the movie names.

The structure is important to match the scraper. "Movies Children\10000 BC\10000 BC.avi" is as I expected you to have it, but perhaps you had "Movies Children\10000 BC\Main Movie\10000 BC.avi" to seperate the "Sample" in a seperate folder, and then "Main Movie" would have been used as title.

Also your listing reminded me to exclude VIDEO_TS and BDMV from the Regular Expression match, otherwise those would be used as movie name. So I hope you listed all possible combinations for your unique setup, otherwise things will go horribly wrong.

Thanks again for your help. I'm glad the info was useful in a way.

Most movies are in VIDEO_TS, but I have never had a problem with Moving Pictures finding the match. I have listed all combinations. Is my setup so unique? It seemed pretty straight forward to me.

One thing that works great with the four directories is parental control. Movies not under parental control are those where the full path includes the word children. This way I can change the protection by just moving the movie from a parent's directory to a children's directory.

MovPic uses multiple parsing expressions to find a match, I'll have to combine that into a single one to make it work where foldername is used for title instead of imdb name. That's why it is important I know the folder setup you have.
