Guys-

Had an issue of a power outtage in my area for about 10 minutes, while the power outtage occured, I was watching a movie from Moving Pictures...(or media portal?)

All of my H.264 movies are stored on a NAS over a gigabit connection. Upon power coming back on, I started up my computer and NAS. After doing so, about 60 moves were missing!

I have about 3TB of other data on that NAS, music, documents, pictures, and nothing was lost.. Only the movies cataloged via moving pictures...

Any insight on this?? Are there any logs I can look at?

Thanks...

Are you saying the actual files got deleted, or that they no longer show up in Moving Pictures? If they're only not showing up in Moving Pictures, your database might have gotten mangled, and needs to be rebuilt.

If the actual files were deleted from disk, I don't think Moving Pictures was to blame. I'd be running chkdsk to see if there are any errors with that hard drive.

The same happened to me. I am not absolutely sure this is MP's fault, but about an hour or two after having it installed and playing around and it crashing I noticed the first 50 movies on my HD were deleted. Only the AVIs and alphabetically sorted the first 50... I still hope it was something else, but can't really explain what it might be. Too bad I deleted the logs before noticing.

I'd be willing to check a log file if someone can post one from when such a situation occurred but I don't see how Moving Pictures could delete anything on disk. In general Moving Pictures is hands off when it comes to your file system.

I wouldn't worry about it, from further examination it wasn't only movies that were missing. It seems some "larger" files were missing from my hi-rez audio library, too.

Most likely a problem with the NAS itself. Thanks though!
