Been playing around with mediaportal for the better portion of the weekend, and i love it, i love moving pictures. I looked into getting xbmc but it just uses up too many resources, this is much more focused for windows. Anyways... as of right now the only way i can get moving pictures to come up, is when i go to "my videos" then go to the menu, and select "moving pictures". Can i set it up so moving pictures is default? and when i select "my videos" it automatically comes up, instead of having to select a plug-in and such?

    Hi and welcome :).
You can't replace My Videos with Moving Pictures as such, but you can make Moving Pictures easier accessible.

Please tell us what skin you are using and what homescreen (press "H") while in home and it toggles "basic" <--> "standard" homescreen).

In short, following can be done:
    - Disable "My Vid." and renam MovPic to "Videos" (and make it accessible)
    - Don't rename or disable, but have both accessible via home.

I prefer to have MyVids for some children movies and homevideo clips.

If you use a remote, you can add a mapping between a key and MovingPictures launch !

Wow, it was just that easy. Thank you Spragleknas. I had some funny feeling it would just be something simple and stupid that i wasn't doing. I pressed "H" because I was using StreamedMP and set it to start with the basic home screen. I disabled that, and moving pictures is right there for me. Thanks alot. And once again, I really do love this program, I've been borderline obsessed with customizing it and using it since I first found it.

StreamedMP has a Menu Editor utility that allows you to add items (including Moving Pictures) to the Basic Home Menu.
It's quite powerful - just be sure to cleat the skin cache, and click the generate menu button when using it.

Maya skin also has basic home editor - you can get rid of My Videos and add MovingPictures and TVSeries to main menu.
