Moving Pictures Category on Home Screen (1 Viewer)

I have just upgraded Moving Pictures, and getting to grips with the categories features. Awesome stuff, thanks!

Question: Is it possible to put a Moving pictures category on the home screen?

At the moment I use Moving Pictures and My TV Series. However I still use the standard My Videos for all the kids stuff to keep it separate. It woud be great to move all the kids stuff to Moving Pictures. (Finding Nemo is good for grown-ups too!).

It would be great to be able to put the kids category from moving pictures at the top level.

Adjust the position within MediaPortal configuration at the plugin screen, put MyVideos under 'plugins' and MovingPictures in 'home'.

Just create your own category/filter to do so, you could filter based on G, PG or PG-13 and under rating to capture the movies you want your kids to watch. If you use the Parental Filter, you can also hide all the R and above rated movies, so your kids don't gain access to those. And a simple PIN code unlocks it for your own enjoyment.

Check the FAQ otherwise for basic explanation on how to set that up.

Thanks for the response. I've already done things like that, so perhaps I was not clear enough with my request.

Let's say I have a "Kids" and "Adults" category in Moving Pictures, what I want is for both of these to be displayed in the home menu, rather than (or as well as) a generic Moving Pictures entry. Kind of like a quick link to a view within the category. (Maybe it has more to do with the skins than Moving Pictures.)

I know it's just one click, so not a biggie, but would make my setup a lot cleaner.

Hi DJ Zany, this would need to be supported in MediaPortal first (see: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...25/patch-allow-skins-plugins-parameter-74143/).

When this is done, it could then be implemented in the plugin so skin support for quick jumps into categories could be supported.
