Hello all,

I've searched forum, manual, bugtracking system and faq without any success.

When I try play xvid, x264 mkv, wmv, iso from my file server (Windows Home Server) the playback locks up after around 15 seconds. In best case it hangs for 30-60 secs and returns to Videos menu. In other cases it hangs and I have to use task manager to kill mediaportal process.

All the computers are connected to a 1 gb wired and switched network. As far as I have been able to test there are no network issues. I also tried to stream files from a share on a different computer, same lockups there. Files that resides locally, on c: drive works perfect. I do had some success playing older low res divX files over network.

I've tried switching codecs in setup, but the problem persists. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

/Björn

EDIT: Worth mentioning is that this time I had to try three different movie clips before it got stucked. I waited for two minutes, then I was able to return to video menu. A bit surprisingly though.

I think I solved the problem.

Ever since I downgraded the Realtek network driver to an older version from Asus homepage I have any problems playing videos from network. The driver from I used was from Windows Update, it worked fine as far as one could see but apparently it have some issues when it comes to streaming stuff.

    Thanks,

    Björn
