When I first installed MP 1.01. I looked in my cache and I had 97 packed gfx files? The file numbers were 2, 20-29, 210-295.

I verified the same result with several skins including Blue3. It takes about 3 min to first load MP 1.0.1

So I tried deleting all my fanart and it went back to the usual 8 or 9 files. Then I downloaded fanart from TVSeries (lastest version) which puts fanart in the user data thumbs folder and now my packegfx files are increasing whenever I recache (not every time MP starts, just if I delete cache)

I'm not sure if this is a bug or the intended design (I hope not!). Please, enlighten me!

I see the same behavior, especially annoying when switching to another skin....

This is "partly" intended behaviour - yes because everything is working correct, no because the thumb folders are "misused" for these backdrops.

There's already a workaround if you really need this many high-res backdrops in _this_ location:

Edit your MediaPortal.xml and make sure the "debug" section looks like this:

no

no

Hey rtv, thanks! Your workaround works great! Does this mean I am not getting the improved graphics performance in MP 1.0.1?

It's not me that needs the hi-res backdrops there. Both Moving Pictures and MP-TVSeries have an option to download fanart automatically now. They both put them in the thumbs folder. Are you saying this is not correct? Where should they be going?
