Hi all,

I am using MP 1.0.2.0 to play some .mkv files. I am using the MPC x264 codec and FFDShow for Audio and AC3 Filter. I also have Haali splitter installed.

The issue I have is that most of my .mkv files play back whether it says they are AC3 audio, DTS and the video stream always says x264. However some say they cannot play and display the error message saying the video is x264 and the audio is AC3/DTS ... but I know these can be played!

Doing some searching it seems to be something to do with subtitles? I have VobSub installed too would this conflict? Doing some testing it might be that only the files with internal subs are playing, those with .idx/sub are not ...

Any suggestions to what options to turn on/off and what codecs/filters to remove/add.

Help much appreciated :D

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I did not try that yet as I have VobSub installed and thought that might conflict. Should i remove VobSub and then install VSFilter? :D

Excellent, that sorted the problem! Thanks!

Just incase anyone else gets stuck I just removed all subtitle filters i had installed, then installed VSFilter.dll using regsvr32 command, then set it to auto load in Haali splitter. Finally enable subtitles in MP configuration :)
