OK, so here's the deal:
I've been using MP on this machine and configuration for years and it always worked perfectly fine. when i updated (completly uninstalled the old, tryed the new XBMC in the meantime and then switched back to MP, but version 1.0.2) i noticed a strange behaviour:
MP starts fine and all settings menus and tv and everything workds fine, but a few seconds after i enter "my videos" or "my music" it freezes. sometimes i can still hear the click sounds from the buttons i press and if this is they case i usually also can still start a video by pressing ok some time - then the video playback is fine. and if i stop the video MP worls again for a few seconds/clicks. other times when it freezes it's just crashed.
i thought the folders database might be corrupted and deleted it but MP rebuiliding it didn't solve the problem.
when taking a look at the logs, they show a lot of direct.x errors, so i updated my directx but this also didn't change anything.
so maybe one of you guys can help me?
