Before you create this bug report:
    1. Make sure that your system (windows, codecs and drivers) is up to date, matching the Requirements and you've filled in your System Specs.
    2. Make sure that the problem you experience is not caused by an Extension (Skin and/or Plugin) you installed. To do that, simply start MediaPortal using the MediaPortal Debug-Mode shortcut from your Windows Start menu (Team MediaPortal -> MediaPortal). In the window that opens you select Report a Bug to Team MediaPortal. This will start MediaPortal using the default skin, and only with the plugins which were part of the release version you installed. If you do not experience the problem in the "Debug Mode", then it is likely to be caused by an Extension you use. Please contact the developer of the extension for further support.
    3. Have a look at our MediaPortal Wiki!Maybe the solution is already there. The following links might help:
    4. Have a look at our Bug Tracker, maybe your problem is already known.
    5. Search the forums for your problem, it's very likely that someone else already encountered the same problem.
Always include log files with your Bug Report!
    Check out our Wiki:
How to collect and attach log files to a support thread

Describe the Problem you encounter as detailed as possible! "It does not work" won't help the team to understand the problem.
Description: MP locks up randomly when redrawing Basic Home Screen, just as the "Latest Media" panel begins to appear, and does not fully display (requires stop in Task Manager). This has happened occasionally in previous versions. Using a MS Remote.

I've got several events logged; the first 3 from v1.38.1 (I believe) and the last from v1.38.3 (today)

Describe as detailed as possible the steps that are required to encounter the issue. This info is critical for the team to understand the problem.
Steps to Reproduce: Exit TV Series after viewing episodes (return to Basic Home) ... random, with no unusual user activity.

I didn't find anything critical, I looked through all the logs, everything is quite normal, once the DShow graph couldn't build properly, but I don't think it would get used to such a problem.

    Code:
[2025-09-06 13:44:31,240] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - VideoPlayer9: Exception while creating DShow graph Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DShowNET.Helper.DirectShowUtil.FindPin(IBaseFilter filter, PinDirection dir, String strPinName)
       at MediaPortal.Player.VideoPlayerVMR9.UpdateFilters(String selection)
       at MediaPortal.Player.VideoPlayerVMR9.GetInterfaces()

Well, there's an error in LMH, I'll look at it:

    Code:
    [2025-09-06 22:45:37,163] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - Windowmanager: Goto previous window
    [2025-09-06 22:45:37,223] [Log ] [111 ] [ERROR] - Exception: System.OverflowException: Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow.

at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)

There's not even an error in the other logs.

BUT my current settings were not retained, so I had to reconfigure LMH to my needs.
It's very strange, I haven't touched this part for 10 years, and MPEI shouldn't have rewritten the configuration file because it hasn't changed for 10 years, and yours should be newer.

I have noticed this exact problem and couldn't see a single reference in the logs that I could post about. I removed the music and picture settings in the LMH config and noticed less or no crashes. I think the problem for me started at mp version 1.36 or 1.37 and later. (Change log didn't seem to reference anything that might have changed also).
I am using a version of the Apollo skin still so thought that might be the problem hench why I haven't messaged.

This is the place it froze today. Using the MP 1.38.3 with updated LMH 2.5.0.100, just returning to Basic Home from TV Series. OldEyes - Autumn theme in DWHD.

Change the skin, or fix the error in it. I don't see any other errors.

    Code:
