Hello all, like everyone else in the UK I've been stung by Sky stuffing my old blue card.

I bought the CielPlus USB DigiBox interface and have mangled their sample program so that it can record a Sky channel OK (wasn't easy since I had to learn about TS streams and how they all work). I asked CielPlus how to change channels and they kindly told me how to do that.

So, I set to work trying to write a BDA driver so that MP could use it the way it had used the old Dragon CAM solution.

Trouble is that the DigiBox ONLY sends out the streams for the channel that it is tuned to.

Even although (for example) Sky 1 is on the same frequency as Nat Geo sending 106 to the Sky box means it only sends out the streams for Sky 1 (at the moment PAT x0, PMT on x10c, streams on x201,x281 & the PCR clock on x1ffe).

So whether I bother continuing trying to write a BDA driver (I've got the the DDK and have made a simple sample working) depends on whether MP suppies the BDA driver with more than JUST the frequency (expecting the entire TS stream back down).

    To summarise...

Does anyone know if a MP/BDA driver gets more than just the frequency (and polarisation) when tuning.

Ideally I want the channel number (101, 106 etc.) that is being tuned to.

I have tried to look at (some old) MP sources but it will take a long time before I understand what/where to look!

Help would be appreciated - if nothing else it might save me wasting my time.

I'll then just make a simple recording program that I can fire off as I require!

    Thank you for any help.

    Hmmmm...

All quiet, I'm guessing that -
    1) No-one knows any more about BDA drivers than me.
    2) No-one knows what MediaPortal asks of the TV car.
    3) No-one wants to help.

Looks like I'll be writing a specific MP plugin just for my Sky interface then. (I've got working using a command line too - so you don't have to buy the TSReader program anymore. I'll be sending this to CielPlus for them to put on their download in a short time.)
