    Synopsis::

    MediaPortal eats up memory until it hits around 850MB. This thrashes the page file. Memory usage for MP then fluctuates between 400 and 800MB. TV playback stops and MP becomes unresponsive.

    Once the process is killed and re-started it takes less than 10 minutes to happen all over again.

    Was working just fine yesterday.

    wow, something is seriously going wrong there, haven't got any strange settings you can think of like importing 100 channels and doing like 30 days of import or something crazy like that have you? I would suggest a backup then an uninstall and delete the MP folder and reinstall, and try again, but someone else may have a solution for you.

    Was thinking it might be something to do with the DB. I shuffled the two DVB cards around yesterday to give my graphics card more space for cooling. Obviously i had to re-install them in windows and MP.

    Deleted the cards in MP setup, deleted the channels and the re-scanned (must change the xml file and insert my transmitter info to speed things up). I'm thinking something had been screwed up with this change.

    I'll try this tonight. It's probably my fault this happened, but MP shouldn't fail like this so there is a bug in there somewhere.

    i dumped the DBs and set everything up again. That sorted that problem.

    I've now replaced them with a single Hauppauge Nova-T 500 dual tuner card. I have other stability problems with the box, so everything isn't perfect yet.
