Since I think the last Windows Update Configuration.exe will not start. Even if I use a clean 0.2.10 setup, mp.config.exe will exit returning a screen. No log, of any kind are produced. I am not sure however if it's the Windows Update or not.

The thing is that on a clean MediaPortal with no settings XML file, the wizard starts up and a settings XML is created.

If I run MP config.exe again using the same settings .XML MP config.exe crashes.

Any version crashes, SVN or 0.2.10 even the ones that worked a few days ago

There are not logs entries in the mp\log folder and no errors in the windows logs

How can I find out what is making MP.config crash ?

    Hi,
Not seen this here @ all (not on any of the 4 comps, all updated to latest @ win update), you did test the old releases into a clean folder?

mm does not appear to be anything significant.

The question then is why does MP config.exe

    Hi,
So the first time wizard & MediaPortal runs fine after a clean install + svn.it's just the configuration/MP Setup that doesn't or?
You could attach your MediaPortal.log to the post maybe it's possible to see something from that.

    Regards
    Roy

    Media portal itself runs fine.

    1) clean 0.2.10 setup, run configuration.exe and the wizard starts. run all to the and and exits.
    2) MP runs fine but only the basic stuff is setup
    3) re-run configuration.exe again ( second time) Configuration.exe crashes
    4) delete the mediaportal.xml and the wizard starts again, see 2:

But because Mediaportal runs fine, nothing shows up in the MP.log

    weird stuff.

I'll post all the other logs in in a few hours ( at work now )

Since I think the last Windows Update Configuration.exe will not start.

(update: the second computer also runs MP ans there everything runs OK so its not a Windows Update issue)

Even if I use a clean 0.2.2.0 setup, mp.config.exe will exit returning a screen.

I retested with 0.2.2.0 and the error is still there

    Media portal itself runs fine.

    1) clean 0.2.20 setup, run configuration.exe and the wizard starts. run all to the and and exits.
