I'm seeing MP crash every so often. Logs attached. I get a Microsoft C++ error popup which if acknowledged crashes MP. If I leave the popup MP continues to run and on occasion I get multiple C++ errors.
This was also happening prior to RC1. I was hoping RC1 would address it.

Logs attached.

Thanks for a great media centre program

Cheers

    Hi,
I see that you have a crash in "pcmr264dec.ax", maybe change 264 decoder to something else & test again.

The codec is from Power Cinema.

I've removed it and installed Power DVD 8 Ultra. We'll see if the fault returns

Thanks very much for you're very prompt reply

    Cheers

    Bruce

PS might need to update the My System template to iclude a spot for the h.264 codec and audio codec.

    Hi,
Now it seems like TV Server crashes for some reason & not your codecs (according to event log).
But, seems like you have some disk errors, try running a scan on your disk's & see:
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk2\D during a paging operation.

    &

The System Restore filter encountered the unexpected error '0xC0000010' while processing the file 'MSI4224d.tmp' on the
volume 'HarddiskVolumeRD'. It has stopped monitoring the volume.

    Regards
    Roy

I'll do the scan as you recommend.

I'm also wondering if it is somehow related to my Virus Software - AVG. What Virus s/w do other use?
I have an issue with AVG in that i can't select which drives to scan/not scan and I'm wondering if this is affecting things

    Any ideas?

I'll let you know the scan outcome.

    Many thanks

    Bruce

I have The same problem. Media portal is getting an Exception.
i Hear the "Tjong" sound from an exception while watching tv. The Tv is still runing and working for a While.
But nothing can be changed using the remote ( no channel change, sound etc. ) then after a few mins Media portal crashes. and i can se the exeption that was produced several minutes earlier.

Only way i have found to reproduce this is wait for it to happend. TIt can take 2 mins or more then days.

I was earlier runing Only Media portal and this problem has not been there before.

    Hi,
jernis, so you too have a "An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk2\D during a paging operation." which in most of the cases it's the start to the end of a hdd?

Attatch all logs or stop hi-jacking other threads.

    Regards
    Roy
