Since MediaPortal-svn--02-22-2008--05-04-Rev17454 I have be unable to play music via ASIO either using the BASS player with ASIO enabled or the PureAudio plugin. Disabling ASIO support allows music to be played with not problems.

Any attempt to play music with ASIO enabled results in MP hard crashing, nothing useful seems to be the log but I have attached it anyway.

I do get this in the application event log

Faulting application MediaPortal.exe, version 0.2.3.17544, time stamp 0x47c41359, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0c161610, process id 0xd00, application start time 0x01c878cfcb6cfce0.

Anyone else running SVN since 17454 and using ASIO having this problem?

Using ASIO4ALL version 2.8

I have not tried this on 4 seperate installations and the results are the same.

Thanks

Are problems solved?
Because switched to XP and ... asio works!
Maybe it's a Vista only problem?

Not as of yesterdays SVN (17827).

Same issues with ASIO4ALL, instant crash using internal or Pureaudio. The problem seems to only affect ASIO4ALL on Vista..backed up as you say it now works on XP.

Rock and hard place on this one...I use TVServer and really need some of the recent fixes...but upgradeing to current SVNs breaks my ASIO4ALL install!! Currently using latest SVN's and dropped ASIO and the ability to play DTS albums and using PureAudio set to output via 'Windows Device'.

Hopfully this be fixed before the release 1 is finalised.

It's a Vista problem.
Asio4all isn't involved, because I didn't use it and had instant crashes on Vista.

Not what I am seeing, currently I am running the latest SVN and using Pureaudio plugin setup to output via Windows device and that us working fine. Also can run without pureaudio using the BASS player and that works fine.

If I use internal BASS and ASIO enabled I get a crash and the same with Pureaudio plugin with ASIO4ALL as the output device.

Granted it is not an ASIO4ALL issue and I can use that sucessfully using foobar2000 and the ASIO component and even configured j.River with ASIO4ALL so all know that works.

What does not work is MP+Vista+ASIO4ALL....or from what you say any ASIO implmentation, the common denominator here is MP I am afraid, thats what has been broken, happend the same time the initial CUE file code went in (mind you still did not work after that was backed out) and has not functioned since...used to work fine and still does if I install SVN 17453.

Something somewhere has entered the mix and at a low level as it causes MP to hard crash leaving no trace as to why other than en entry in the Application Event log about MediaPortal.exe faulting application.

Can someone re-confirm that SVN 17453 is ok on vista and 17454 crashes?
Just looked into SVN repository and the only change in 17454 i can find is somewhere in TV server...

    Hi,

are you sure that it is an OS-error ??
I'am using SVN - 17811 with the latest PureVideo Version on XP works fine here. I will not change this because of TV-server issues until there is a stable release - TVserver + MP combination out.

I can remeber that the Interface definition has been changed regrading CUE-File Support, so Symphy modified the PureVideo PlugIn.

But the CUE file stuff has been removed:
13/03/2008 [20:39h] hwahrmann added: Remove CUE file support as it was causing troubles with playback. will be re-added later on after more testing

so I would suggest to install an older PureVideo PlugIn that not contains the CUE file fix...

    Hope that helps,
    Olli
