Hi all,

I have been running MP for years and I love it. But now I have the first problem I can't fix myself. I hope somebody can help.

Before error:
I tried to play an ISO (BD) and the PC crashed with a nice BSOD. Wooops ;)

After rebooting MP started to crash right at the start, even before anything loads (i.e. no splash). I have checked the forum and came across the empty Mediaportal.exe.config issue, but mine is there and identical to the ones shown in other posts.

I tried to reinstall MP, I tried other skins, other settings, I disabled all plugins, I unsinstalled Daemon-Tools incld. SPD - I think I tried pretty much everything except format C: But MP keeps crashing. :(

Enclosed is the watchdog report. The error message sounds exactly like at those people with the Mediaportal.exe.config issue, but as I said mine is ok.

Any idea what else I could try? Any solution?

Thanks in advance :D

Did you get to the bottom of this, mine has just gone the same way, crashed when closing playback of an mkv, and now wont restart.

My log files look identical to yours.

Hopefully someone will help.

I've hit the same problem you have (even after a reinstall of MP). I am able to start up okay if I open MP as administrator, though. Would be nice if anyone had any advice.

Try going to the START menu\team-mediaportal\mediaportal\user files, find mediaportal.xml and rename it to something else, now start MP config and reconfigure.

See if that fixes things for you, cannot believe we missed the other posts

    Tried to rename it.
Looked as if the config still was there "kind" of...

    Just added a video folder.
    Crashes the same way..

When i try to run MP as administrator..
    It actualy starts up!

    getting more and more confusing...

When i try to run MP as administrator

Then the user does not have enough permissions, make sure when you install\configure, you "run as administrator".

Generally find user accounts have some issues with either TVServer or MP itself.

Yea i would have guessed so to.
Thats why the user IS the administartor....
And it has been working until yesterday..

But for some reason now i MUST run it as administrator...
So somting else must be the reason.

got the same problem here, it stop working after it worked ok until the morning, now it crashes at start and i havent installed or changede anything in the system

i have unistall and reinstal, but it dosnt help

    I have fixed the problem,
    1. go to mp folder, change the properties of Mediaportal.exe to run as adminstrator, accept it, and close.

    ready, it works again
