Good morning everyone,

I experienced some trouble during the channel scan in MP. At this point in the setup wizard, MP crashes and the 'sorry, MP closed because of an error' window appears. I tried a few more times (reboot, BDA driver reinstall), but failed every time.
I am using MS MCE as well, but for the MP install I specifically uninstalled the DigitalEverywhere MCE BDA drivers+Plugin and installed the BDA light version (4.8) instead - this is the one recommended for MP on the DE website.
Can anyone figure out what's wrong from the log-files?

many :D ,
KleMC

hi
i had this
you have a digital card but you are on the analog tuning page.
just skip past it and it will give you a digital tuning page, use that one.
there should be some error trapping there

really? MP realises that I have a DVB-S card, it even asks which satellite it should scan. How can I bypass the scan? It crashes straight away at this part of the setup.

Muldini

patch is installed. all XP updates in place.

in the meantime I have tried 0.2.3.0 RC and got the same result. Any clues?

Are you trying to run the channel scan from within MediaPortal (you mention the "setup wizard") , or from within MediaPortal Setup?

You should be using MediaPortal Setup, and not the setup wizard inside MediaPortal.

    hey Klemc,
hmmm maybe it's not the same then.
my card is a DVB-T but it doesn't have analog, well it does, but only as composite in, not like rf in, that's just for digital.

i'd listen to Taipan, he fixed my issue, with a different tv card driver and that patch he links to.
