After 2 days of searching in this forum...I just always find...Wow..i have a problem..i can not have Mediaportal find my analogue card...after couple of days...either no help..or ..aa..i made it work... end.
BUT NO HOW?
Either no answers....or some cryptical sentences where 98% of people just stand like the have seen a ghost..

Could somebody please tell me what I have to do to be able to use my hybrid card in mediaportal. Today it finds the digital part...which I do not have here...only analogue. Therefore no channels available today.

What do I and everybode else have to do to make mediaportal find this card with analogue solutions and to be able to find the channels. Ofcourse it works with hauppague TV2000 correctly.

I have tried to modify CaptureCardDefinitions.xml...used graphedit to try if it works etc...but there is no GOOD step by step explenation or similar.

Please answer as it was to all 98% of the viewers that have not spent their time 100% beside a computer since their birth.

Soo...hopefully EVERYBODY with a Hauppague WinTV-HVR-1100, here is the solution for how to do to make MP to find Analogue part of our TV-card.

Hopefylly some kind understanding person could fill in the rest.

Thank you very much. :D

I have two HVR-1100 in my HTPC, one retail and one MCE-version. Both analog and digital parts of both cards were found by MP without any problems. You shouldn't have to do anything special. Just install the cards and the drivers, then add the cards in the MP config and tune your stations.

What is the problem you are experiencing? Are you trying to add the card and nothing is found or are you getting the "Cannot create graph" error?

Thank you for your interest in answering this question.
I start MP config and the only visible card is the digital version. not the analogue one. Therefore I can not use my card as we only have analogue channels here. I do not know how to make so that i can choose analogue version inside MP. in other words. it is not visible ...and i do not know how to make it visible in MP.

hope you understand...

thanx

A couple of things to check:

1. Are you sure you have installed both analog and digital drivers? Go into Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager->Sound, Video and Game controllers. There should be six or eight different different drivers, all with the name 88-something. You should be able to see from the names which ones are analog.

2. Have you installed the Hauppauge Win2000 application and verified that you can use the analog part of the card outside MediaPortal?

3. Have you installed the Hauppauge software MPEG encoder?

4. Now, with all of this checked, if you go into MP Config->Television->TV Cards and hit the ADD button, what happens?

1: I have installed the drivers that came with the card. If i look in hardware manager under sound. I only found one with the hauppague name.
Hauppague WinTv-HVR Capture device (67xx).

2: I receive channels through hauppages own software Wintv, i only have analogue channels and i am able to watch tv through their own SW.

3: had that before..but now Powerdvd:s drivers.

4: The available cards are only
Hauppague WinTv-HVR 713x BDA Digital Capture (Hauppague WINTV-HVR 1100)

Best regards

713x indicates that you have the HVR-1110, a triangular shaped card with different chipset than the original HVR-1100. It seems several people are having problems with this card. Check in your capturecarddefinitions.xml file that you have a section for the "Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 713x BDA Analog Capture". As you can see, it lists the 5 drivers that are needed for the analog side of the card. The fact that these drivers are not in your device manager, indicates that something is missing in your installation. I suggest you download the latest drivers 3.3c from www.hauppauge.se/support and follow the instructions on that page on how to remove the old drivers and install the new ones. And also install the MPEG software encoder. Not sure what you mean under 3. about PowerDVD driver. As far as I know PowerDVD has a DECODER, but you also need an ENCODER to be able to capture MPEG with a S/W encoding card such as HVR-1100.

Good luck,
Micke

Re-Install MediaPortal and go through the whole setup process again. This is because one of the screens on the setup process is to scan for your analogue channels then the step after that is to scan for you digital ones. Perhaps if you do that you should be able to watch TV?

Hope that helps

Hi any update on this one, I appear to have the same card and this software looks a lot better than any other thats on the market. The Hauppauge software and Cyberlink PowerCinema 5 pick up the analogue signal fine.

In addition how do you get the S-Video signal working?

Thanks for your help,

Blade
