    Hi mikele,

Please try this new CaptureCardDefinitions.xml. Download it and backup/replace the the one in your MediaPortal installation directory. After that, try adding your card again. If it fails, post your mediaportal.log again. Also let me know if it does work.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

It worked, MP recognized the card. Thanks!

Now I'm running into some other problems that seem to be common, TV looks dark, lots of lost frames, audio out of synch, TV stops working after some seconds, etc. But these are the same problems that I've seen with Got All Media. I guess it has to do with how the graph is created, there must be something wrong there. Again, Winfast PVR and WinDVR work fine.

    Hi,

Those are pretty weird issues altogether. Do you experience this on a clean install of Windows XP? It sounds like a DirectShow / codec problem. Maybe a different/older/newer graphics card driver? MediaPortal is using VMR9 (Got All Media too), I guess Winfast PVR / WinDVR don't.

You could try capturing the graph MP renders using GraphEdit, save it to disk and try to change the Video Mixing Renderer 9 to the regular Video Mixing Renderer (Overlay), start playback of the modified graph and see if that solves anything. This won't fix your problem but at least you can find out the source of your problem.

Now that I type that and review your Video card: you're using a GeForce2 MX-400 which definitely doesn't support DirectX9 (and thus vmr9), so my guess is the source of your problem is your graphics card.

BTW, I added support for your TV card to SVN so the upcoming SVN snapshots will support your card.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

    Hi,

I seem to be having the same problem with the same card. I have tried the new capturecard xml file but get the same results. I have installed the drivers and application from the Leadtek site, although that did not make any difference.

This is the log from the new xml file
    http://pastebin.team-mediaportal.com/10163

    and using the old...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Actually I just edited the XML file with the string that was in the log and now it seems to have detected it.

I have lost the box for my tv card, but it is possible that it is the RM model...

    Michel:
    Thank you for your interest!

I always thought my card supported VMR9, at least it works when I try to use it, for example here's a graph of a very bad 80s movie playing on Media Player Classic (which I've set to use VMR9):

    With VMR9 Renderless mode:

    And with VMR9 Windowed mode:

I've tried to connect to MP's directshow graph but GraphEdit seems to crash when TV is on. When MP has just started I can connect to the graph, I see a lot of filters, including Leadtek's, but no video renderer.

    Hi,

shacknasty: added support for your card as well to SVN.

    mikele:
While playing back a movie might work with VMR9, you can't really compare that with the way MP works. I doubt MPC uses any of the DirectX9 specific features to render additional graphics onto the screen. That might explain why MPC does work and MP not.

You should be able to connect to the running graph just fine. The graphs which are rendered at startup are just partly build graphs. They will be build completly as soon as you start viewing TV. It's just precaching the graph for later use.

    Kind regards,
    Michel
