You need to add .vob files in MediaPortal configuration. It is not there by default. Simply open up Mediaportal configuration, go to videos, and then video extensions. There you will see a list of extensions that mediaportal plays by default. Add vob files and you should be all set.

    Hi there :)

There was a recent fix for vob files in the MP 1.1.0 alpha version SVN of 2009-07-18.

Thought I would mention it just in case you guys want to play a bit with the test version.

I just downloaded the MP 1.1.0 Alpha version, installed it, downloaded the SVN of 2009-07-18 and installed that. I also installed the MP TV-series plugin. My system was clean from previous MP versions. I installed the "SVN of 2009-07-18" using the "Setup-MediaPortal-svn-1.0.3.23209.exe" file.

In the video section I added .vob as an extension. The MP TV-series plugin found all my series (mix of .mkv and .vob files).

When I then open MP and navigate to My TV series and I can see all episodes listed, but I cannot play the .vob files. The .mkv starts right away. When I click on a .vob file nothing happens. The screen just stays on the MP TV-series screen. I have to hit "Alt+F4" in order to shut down MP. The .vob files play perfectly in VLC and WMP.

    Any ideas on what's wrong?

TV series is 3rd party plugin and don't know how it is handling files or playing. So please test it with My Videos instead which is core feature of MP.

Tried adding a .vob file in My Videos. This also doesn't work. It behaves the same way as when trying a .vob tv series file.

I also tried a m2ts fil - same result as the vob file.
