MP failed to learn IR code with Hauppauge MCE Kit (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I'm using a Hauppauge PVR-150MCE kit which comes with MCE compatible remote control and IR blaster.

I'm running the latest official version of MP under Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit.

The problem is, when I'm trying to learn an IR code I get the following error immediately: "Faild to learn IR code".

How can I fix it ? Should I download a certain plug-in ?
I also know that MP creates and ".ir" files which contain the IR code. Is it possible to create IR files myself (I have the IR codes stored in my Pronto configuration file) instead of learning from the original remote ?

I mean, are the codes the same or the Pronto has its unique pattern of IR codes ?

Thanks.

It sounds like you're using MCE Replacement Plugin, is that right?

If you are, then you can make a ".IR" file and just cut and paste your Pronto code into it.

But it could be an incompatibility with the PVR-150 kit.

Let me know if you are using MCE Replacement Plugin and I'll move this thread to the correct sub-section.

    Cheers,

well put your pronto codes into separate .ir files and see if they work. if not, then you'll be stuck until I figure out why PVR-150 doesn't work...

Edit: I've moved the thread to the mce replacement plugin sub-section.

    good luck,

So basically the problem of IR learning with the PVR-150 MCE kit and the MCE Replacement Plugin is a common problem or it is just happened to me ?

BTW, The MCE remote itself work fantastically well in MP.

I've heard of people having problems with the Hauppauge PVR's MCE kits, but try the Pronto codes and let me know how it goes.

I've been meaning to look into it further, but I don't have a Hauppauge setup.

    Cheers,

I have the same setup and also having a lot of problems getting the remote working. Seen a few others on the forum with the same sorts of problems. Tried a couple diff plugins with random results. For me the Remote is talking to the Microsoft parts but the blaster part isn't blasting it to my digital box.
