I'm looking forward to use it.
With great enthusiasm I'm trying to install MP as backend on my home server.
Coming from XP prof it worked all fine.
After some frustrating moments on a 64bit box I tested the install on a fresh W7 32 prof de system. It worked out all smoothly and without flaws.
Let me share my experiences with the 64bit installation process.
I need 64 bit to address 8GB as I also run some virtualization on it.
Unfortunately I can not provide any log-files as I wasn't able to install MP so far.
I'm using a fresh W7 64 prof installation in both English or German.
MS-Updates are installed.
Failure 1)
MP Installer 1.1.1/1.1.2 get the same behaviour
Deplay tool starts correctly by extracting itself and assessing the installed components.
The download starts and stopps claiming that the MySQL file can not be found and therefore not be downloaded.
Interestingly I can download when manually entering the path in a browser.
Failure 2)
When having all parts installed manually I have started the MP Setup.
The first step leads me to the 'Setup database connection' window.
I select MySQL5
with (HN: s1w; Dependency: MySQL5, Scheme: MpTvDb // UID: root and the standard MP password)
After initiating TEST I get the following failure message which does not let me go further:
Connection failed!
Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts.
local hosts file is pointing to 127.0.0.1 as localhost.
Please advise.
