Simply because Win7 does not come with DX9 updates, DX11 is not backward compatible as you may think, DX9\10\11 are seperate entities in their own right, so each component may be updated, so not progressive as many people think.
I am installing on W7 as well.
So will DX11 and DX8 live together in the system, or DX11 will be removed?
Related question - during installation MP also tries to up(down)grade VC++ redistributable from version 2008 already installed to version 2005. Is it really necessary?
