I removed all the TV and Radio stations - updated the satellite list - performed a channel scan - this all worked
I removed the encrypted channels for both the TV and Radio
    Configured the EPG
Opened MP and left over night - sure enough "TV service lost error..."

    TVService logs attached...

I think this truely is the same problem I have, because I also have the tv service lost error, but sometimes it is also gone, so I'm not informed of the fact that the connection to the tv server is lost when I come home from work. If I choose a channel (when apparently the connection to the tv server is lost) MP locks up.
Unfortunately this happens now every day when I get home from work and every morning before going to work.

If your connection to the tv server is lost when MP has been inactive for a while and you choose a channel, does MP lock up like it happens on my end?

AW: MP losing connection to the TV service after inactivity

I've got the same error for a few weeks ago - and found a solution! I use wireless lan for inet connection (single seat installation!) and every time when my (weak) signal looses connection to the router i've got this error.
So I created a "loopback" network adapter, give it a static ip like 10.0.0.5 and use this ip for the TV Server. From this time I never got the error again, I hope this will help you!

    Sorry for my bad english!

    Greetings

I'm hard wired to the router @ 100Mb/s
The satellite dish is also hard wired into the Hauppauge card with a clear, uninterrupted view of the sky.
I have also read this elsewhere and ran a signal strength test on the PC with no problems...

Also - never an issue with pre RC versions

Same here, 1gbit LAN connection, but with DVB-C for tv reception.

I just set windows to restart the service if it fails. I've had this problem for months.
    So your tvservice crashes?

@SpudR / TLD your Windowseventlog ebtries from TvService would be interesting.

    @TLD same error.log in TV-Server as SpudR?

I am having the exact same symptoms as the previous posters in this thread - with MediaPortal saying it has lost connection to the TV Service.

In my case I am sure that this is because the TV Service is crashing. I have found a few entries in Windows Event Log that i base that on. I am pasting these entries below:

It's a litte odd that the crash is happening in different modules, but I have seen entries for MediaPortal.exe in the Event log as well - crashing because of errors in ntdll.dll.

I am using a setup with a loopback interface as described above, and my TV card is Fire-DTV with the latest drivers.
