I've got a pretty clear problem playing ISO's (DVD ISO's). It is also in older SVN's but just found out what caused it yesterday. It's a nasty bug I think so hope it helps you all.

If I play a ISO (DVD) using the Extended Video Renderer and al VWR9 options checked and I'll press the right arrow key to forward it will forward but then the 'forward bar' will stay on top of the video and MP won't react at all anymore but the DVD keeps on playing. Using taskmanager is the only way out.

If I deselect that Extended Video Renderer I can forward as I want, nothing will freeze. Happens really every time so easy to get the same (well I hope).

The strange thing I noticed is that.. when I use the Extended Video Renderer it will use ffdshow (as supposed) I can see that because I enabled the OSD from ffdshow. If I uncheck that Extended Video Renderer it won't use ffdshow.

Think that's weird and I hope this information will get you on the way to make the Extended Video Renderer better. Must say I don't have Vista, just XP but with .Net Framework 3 installed with all updates.

Pretty clear problem and pretty long log file attached :)

Keep up the good work!

Microsoft doesn't officially support EVR on Windows XP. Also all hardware acceleration is disabled when using EVR on Windows XP.

I Would highly recommend to use the VMR9 in Windows XP.

Thank you for your reply! Well I do that now, like to skip things ;) But maybe someone can change the text behind that option. Like 'experimental, but it causes even more trouble using Windows XP' :) It took me a while to find out what was causing it.

And I was already a bit suspisious because I was looking at MS Knowledgebase and not much about EVR on XP :) But again, thanks for your reply.
