Hi, I have just installed the latest version of Media Portal, took ages to get it install beacuse of the fact that I am using a CF card not a hard drive. But its all done now.

Here are the problems, video I maen any file type wont play, comes up with a boc telling me what codec it needs, easy you say just install it, but the same video file plays fine in windows media player, therefore the codec must be installed??

Secondly the TV wont display anything, when it tryes all I get is cant start timeshifting and No TV/audio deteced. But youve guessed it, I installed progdvb scanned and can watch TV, therefore the audio/visual can be dectited.

Attached is the mp log I just made.

TVServer cannot find offline timeshifting folder z:.

The other error relates to vmr9 problems, seems it could be driver\settings related, but could you try with EVR instead of vmr9 as renderer under the advanced setting directshow filters.

Any idea why? the z:\timeshift\ folder is on a network share. I know there is read\write permission on that folder (I have created folders in it from windows explorer across the network).

I changed the media portal config to EVR standard def movies now play, but 720p HiDef ones are about 10 seconds out of sync

OK some more info, I have installed just the media portal without the TV stuff on my laptop it works fine.
So I thought it might have been something to do with the TV stuff, so I un installed it on media computer, and installed MP without the TV. But on the media computer it still wont play, I turned VMR off, and standard def plays, but hidef is really out of sync.

What codecs are you using, preferably something like hoborg's SAF so you get hardware acceleration, make sure you are using a driver version that supports dxva, using vmr9.

You need to find out why vmr9 is broken, make sure you have the latest directx update.

I have just re-install SAF and direct x 9. If I enable VMR it doesnt even try to play.

Other codex installed are, ffdshow, halli, and WinDVD. I only installed WinDVD coz it is on my laptop and that plays HD fine. And my laptop doesnot have SAF installed.

Like I have said before Windows Media Player will play the files fine, just MP wont play the same file, therefore how can it be a codex problem.

As for the video card, its onboard an, ATI Radeon HD 3200
