Hi,
I am trying to run MediaPortal on dual mode with an NVidea G6600 card. I'd like to use the PC monitor just as normal PC monitor and the TV for the MP.
I configured nView the following:
1) set primary display on TV (it was stated several times that dirX only works on primary display since windows seems to support only this)
2) mapped the primary display to my TV
3) configured mp.exe always to start on the TV (i.e. primary display)
Advantage:
- you can now run MP in fullscreen mode running on TV using the HW-overlay also working on TV.
- working with dual but clone mode enables different resolutions and refresh rates for both phsical display, perfect so far
BUT NOW THE BIG DISADVANTAGES:
- if you start the MP in fullscreen, on the PC the complete task bar, try bar and start menue disappear!
In addition, which is really shit: windows does now always start on the TV, the PC monitor just has a blank screen (this is since windows seems to always put logon masks on the primary display, great shit !)
- if you go to an application on the PC monitor menawhile running MP on the TV, the applicaiton on the PC montor gets the active application and as such the remote control cannot be used anymore for the MP. Only afer making MP the active app again , remote works again
I am loosing hours for trying to solve this feature. Can anyone help me here ? especially with configuring nView correctly ?
a) how can I make logon, taskbar, start menu working on PC monitor (=secondary display) meanwhile running MP on the TV (i.e. primary display) in fullscreen mode ?
b) how to overcome this problem of remote controlling if being an inactive application ?
also any other suggestion (i.e. using span mode instead of dual-mode) or whatever is welcome to let both run in parallel on 2 screens.
Thanx,
Tobi
