Like the title says, MP crashes at random when playing a video file.

I doubt its the same issue... I only have this when playing video files thru " My Videos " and they have been mainly mkv's.
I switched to ffdshow as decoder just for today and so far so good.
Previously, i was using MpcVideoDec.ax version 1.3.1249.0 which gives me h264 hardware acceleration for 1080, but i am not sure what is causing the problem...

Anyone out there had a chance to look at this ?

I think we would need one of the developers to comment here, but based on discussions within the team, I do think there is a high chance that you are seeing the same issue. It seems not to be limited to TV recordings. However, the team is working very hard to fix this, and seems to be making good progress.

Same issue for myVideo files (AVI) with MP 1.1.0 RC1 under XP SP3 and SAF 4 installed (PDVD9 used) -> after a while black screen, audio in loop and MP hangs.
