MP update from WIN XP SP3 to WIN7 64bit on a ASROCK ION 330 HT (1 Viewer)

Im thinking of update my HTPC, its a Asrock 330 HT (ION chipset), its running in a WINDOWS XP SP3!
My media portal is running good, decoding 720p and 1080 mkvs by hardware acceleration (DXVA)!
I want to update to a WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE 64bit or 32 bit, with this OS update should i get some improvent ?
what's the best OS option ?

ASROCK 330 HT specs :

ASRock > Products > ION 330HT
(i have 4gb ddr2 800mhz)

I guess you will always get conflicting advice with such a question. All I can say is that I am very happy with Win7 32bit and will never go back.
I have also seen reports that video playback is better in 7.
