Hi All

Decided to replace XP with Vista on my Media Centre, but have come into a 'Small' problem installing MP on it...

I have just done a complete fresh install of Vista, updated everything and sat down ready to set up MP, but the installation fails with 'Sorry Your OS is not suported by Media Portal'.
I have tried running it in XP compatabilty mode but I still get the same message.

Searching the forums it appears that some people have MP working on Vista, so any suggestions as to where to go from here would be appreciated.
I am using the MediaPortalSetup_1.1.0_BETA-1_rev23491 install file with Vista Home Premium.

Hi Markpainter,

I'm running MP1.0.2 on Vista Home Premium 32bit. Is your Vista 64bit?
I suggest you try the 1.0.2 version and see if that works. I believe there were some issues with some 1.1.0 versions...

Cheers.

Sure you've updated everything? It wouldn't install on vista for me until the .NET frameworks were updated.

That's what it is - it installed ok using 1.0.2, BUT, now I find that the main plugin I use - My Music Videos - won't work under that version of MP - its needs a later version.

So, it looks like once again I will have to wipe the OS and go back to XP, after spending a week installing Vista and all the upgrades needed.

I am starting to loose the will to live with all this!
