OK my remote works fine now. But no videos will play in MP both .avi and.mkv play in WMP stand alone, and as an external player.

If local files will not play, then its possibly graphics\codec, or only network files will not play, then possibly firewall\user permissions, make sure mediaportal and TVSevice are allowed as a exception in the firewall.

Can you confirm what graphics you have, including driver version.

Make sure if its onboard that you have set the GPU memory to 256 or maximum allowed in BIOS.
