Starting last Friday, lost regular sound in MP1.0. including playback on mp3. all DTS, AC3, H262 works as before. No even sounds in Menu. Same files played from Vista directly using media player are OK and play without issue.
Would welcome some help in fixing it. Reinstall did not change anything.

Can you check the vista sound icon volume mixer setting, to do this you need mediaportal in windowed mode (alt-enter) with the general setting "keep MP on top" disabled, you should now see MP in the systray speaker icon mixer settings, is it muted or turned right down.

This is resolved now. For some reason, volume control was set to max, but highlighted in black. I maxed it again, now it is working as before.
    Steps:
    - run MP (not full screen)
    - click on speaker icon down on the right corner.
    - click on mixer
    - adjust volume for the MP to max.
    - Enjoy.
Note. MP should be running, otherwise you will not see it in the mixer. It only shows apps currently using audio session.
Mixer should remember your settings, however I found different notes on the net with complains that it does not.
Anyways, if you loose it again, you know how to fix it.:):D;)

For people searching- I had the same problem on XP. My volume control (in Soundmax) was muted. The only things I think I did was to upgrade from RC3 to 1.0 and install ffdshow a couple of days before
