MP1 will not play any videos (1 Viewer)

Hi

I have Media Portal 1 setup but everytime i click a video to play the screen quickly flickers black and the video does not play. I also noticed on the taskbar 'Fullscreen' is displayed for a split second before the screens flickers black.

I have removed all the codecs and done a fresh install of Klite codec pack. this has not worked. i have also tried a clean install of ffdshow on its own but this has also not worked

Any ideas?

As for the log files, it reaches 'gathering system eventlog inromation...' then an error appears.

Is this a full install of whatever Windows OS you have, make sure you have all updates installed and the newer .net3.0\3.5

Try enabling EVR as renderer, you need to be in expert mode in MP config to do this (top right hand corner) and it is found under the Directshow filter control.

More information about your setup and the filetypes you are trying to play may help, something like gspot2.70 will help find this.

If you are going to use a codec pack, the only one I can recommend is the Vista codec pack (ignore name), you may have to change the avi setting to gabest splitter if the MS splitter does not work correctly.

Problem solved!!!

I disabled the EVR renderer and selected the WM9 instead.
