I just realized, that video files with E-AC3 audio tracks are played in Stereo in MP2.
After a bit of investigating, I found out, that E-AC3 does not support bitstreaming, so people who send through the signal to receiver will have only stereo as output.
VLC player gave a commit with version 3.0 and can handle. Would be nice, if there is also a way to handle it within MP2. Deactivation of bitstreaming is a nogo from my point of view.
Do others have experience with E-AC3 sound?

Is that what is transmitted when Das Erste displays the Surround Sound logo, e.g. Tatort?
No, it’s part of a mkv file. I think it means Enhanced AC3 and provides better sound quality. Lately more files have EAC3 as audio track. bitstreaming seems not to work with it.
