Since GemX has abandoned this project I decided to make it work against 1.2 beta.
Have fun and massive props to the great GemX for creating this in the first place.

You need to copy your Gentle.config file from C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server and paste it in the same folder as mptvclient. Then do the additional settings for vlc etc.

Um das JIT-Debuggen (Just-In-Time) zu aktivieren, muss in der
Konfigurationsdatei der Anwendung oder des Computers
(machine.config) der jitDebugging-Wert im Abschnitt system.windows.forms festgelegt werden.
Die Anwendung muss mit aktiviertem Debuggen kompiliert werden.

Zum Beispiel:

Wenn das JIT-Debuggen aktiviert ist, werden alle nicht behandelten

    I'm getting the same error :( I already tried my self to compile this little app, but failed and have absolute no clue xD

    According to your systemspec, neither of you is running MP1.2Beta.
    Could it be that you both are running x64 of windows? This one is compiled on a 32-bits win.

    Mp1.2 TV Server is runnning on a remote server in my network.
    Yes I am using x64 Windows 7 .. :) Is it possible to compile a version for it? thx!!

    Could you try to just copy the dlls from your installfolder and replace the ones from mine and see what happens.

    I'm running 1.2 Beta and I copied the flies from my install folder into the SlimClient directory, the same error ;)

    My Setup:
    HTPC:
    - MP 1.2 Beta Singleseat
    - Windows 7 x64

    Remote PC:
    - Windows 7 x64
